Hello Elaine, I have been watching the growth of the new puppies on your web page and they are adorable. I wanted to get you an update on our precious boy. Oban Bear is great, can tell you that he very much enjoyed his first winter in Maine. There was 2 feet of snow in the yard from Nov to March. Obie is energetic and fun, he has a strong independent streak and the cat is not his biggest fan. :-) We lost our old Labador in dec and we are so happy we had the puppy with us. Obie loves his big kids( they are 20 and 22), everytime he sees them he is so excited its like its the first time. We are already talking about getting another dog and a second elkhound is very high on the list, so you will probally be hearing from us. Thanks for bringing Obie into our lives. (Obie is a handsome boy of our Shadow and Shasta)

	Hi Elaine,   I just wanted to give you an update on Ace.  He is such a great dog.  He is sweet, playful, and starting to become pretty obedient; I actually like that he has a little bit of a mischevious side sometimes.  It's good for a laugh.  My wife and I absolutely love him.  We get compliments about how beautiful he is everywhere we go.  I've attached some pictures that I thought you might want to see.  Hope all is well!   Jeremy and Jessica Bartley Handsome Ace

	Dear Gary and Elaine, We celebrated Elli's first birthday on 8-1-08. She is smart, energetic, and full of personality. She quickly adapted to our busy household with all the neighborhood kids coming and going. I especially like having a great walking companion, and she loves to run beside me on my bike. Alert, watchful, and friendly with kids and other dogs, she is a great famliy dog! 	BELLA Dear Elaine,   I agree that you are correct that Bella is always happy to see me and is very excited, even if I am there and she is sleeping, upon awakening it's like she is seeing me for the first time again. The same is true with my parents, she is special for she always makes us feel happy know matter how we are feeling.  I believe that a dog wags it's tail with it's heart and Bella Spera does this and like her name in English translation from her Italian name Bella Spera means "Beautiful Hope" and that is her unique quality and she is appropriatley named as she shows this time & time again. 	ELLI Dear Gary & Elaine,   I just wanted to share what a delight Elli has been. She is doing fantastic with Crate Training. She has already mastered "sit", "down", and "shake"; and is always eager to please.   We have taken her to two of my son's soccer games. She is always the center of attention, drawing many questions about her breed. Of course I brag about Norwegian Elkhounds and your kennel. Next step...spaying in about a month.      She likes playing with the other dogs, although she's not beyond playing with the cats too (whether they want to or not!). 	Tinkerbell and BAYLA at home in Minnesota Hi Elaine and Gary,    Our baby has reached 6 months old so thought I would send you a picture of her and her 'sister' - Tinkerbell. She is a real sweetheart but can be a handful, as elkhounds can be.Thanks again for a wonderful dog. Bayla is so happy and sometimes she thinks she is a poodle, like Tinkerbell, and wants to be a lap dog!! Then sometimes I think she thinks she is a beagle as she howls when she gets to barking!! 	SASHA Miesha, Sasha, & Karma are all wonderful daughters of our Shasta and Shadow KARMA Hi Elaine, I thought I would just send you a quick message to update you on how Miesha, Sasha and Karma were doing.  We cannot dote on them enough.  These girls are the best dogs and Elkhounds one could ever ask for!  Miesha and Sasha will be 2 years old in just a couple of days and they have really calmed down tremendously over the past several months – they are threatening to become proper “young ladies”!  Karma just had her first birthday and she is just a doll!  Since the day that we brought her home at 4 months of age (and we told her that she was NOT a Beagle – LOL!), she has just been an angel.  She has always been so well mannered and polite!  I enrolled her in obedience school back in October and she did very well.  I was excited to see that both Shasta and Sassy were having more pups, especially ShastaJ  I will look forward to seeing all of their cute pictures soon.  Take care Elaine – who knows we may be back for a third spring in a row if all of Shasta and Sassy’s pups don’t get spoken for! 	Shadow Kiernan 2006 Hello Gary & Elaine,   Shadow turns (2 years)  on Tuesday....(Caulderwood's Dusty Shadow & Caulderwood's Sassy Mittens / Litter 06/06/2004)   He's a great a dog...too smart for his own good!!!   Here's a picture of Shadow during our winter January vacation. We rented a log home in Charlevoix, Michigan....He had a blast!   But he's doing well...and is very healthy. Keeps us on our toes.... 	SHORTY 2006 (handsome son of our Shadow and Sassy) Elaine,   It's been a long time since I sent you pictures of Shorty.  He is a blessing and we love him so much.  He's definitely a mama's boy.  He stays by my side all the time.  He loves people and animals but is very protective if he feels uncomfortable with a situation.  He has a natural instinct about how things should be and he has gone so far as to take my hand in his mouth and make me walk away from a stranger.  I have an 8 month old grandson and Shorty adores him.  All I have to say is "baby" and you can see his face light up.  He is so gentle.  I can't thank you enough. 	Hello Elaine,        I thought I would sent you a short note and let you know how Chewie is doing.  Its hard to believe he will be a year old in just a few months.  We have really enjoyed having him as a pet.  He is very energetic and loves to play with Bryan. He sits with Bryan in the den and watches soccer games with him.        We took him to the vet a few weeks ago and he is already almost 50 pounds.  Our vet just loves all over him when we take him in.  She always comments on how beautiful he is. 	SIMON - handsome pup of our Shadow and Shasta very happy at his home in Rhode Island ...Just wanted to write a quick email to let you know that Simon is doing really great! He is 23 pounds and about 16 inches tall now. He is SO handsome...and such a great pup! He was pratically housebroken when we got him, and is a professional at it now. Goes to the door, sits, then barks to be let out if we dont see him quick enough. He really is a great companion and a good watch dog too. We have enrolled him in training class, and he loves it. He is the superstar...picks up on everything so fast too. He also has an amazing personality...its like having a little person around. He will tell us when he wants something, and even talk back to us when we "punish" him...it is so funny! He absolutley LOVES the snow too! We have gotten 3snow storms since Thanksgiving, so he is having a blast. This past weekend we got about 8"...so it was up to his belly. But he loved it anyway.
